hi....this is the temporary version on my website. my name is tony whitlock. i record & play music. i'm a partner at Queensize Twin Air Studios, in indianapolis, in. i also play guitar in the band brando. one time, magnet magazine said: "Its the nerdiness of Pavement, the dreamy abstraction of the Flaming Lips and the angst of Sebadoh all muddled into one." i also enjoy creating ambient sounscapes; minimal musical pieces; bent-up, twisted instrumentals and whatever else comes to mind in my free time. here are some projects)that i have worked on: ambient drones for short film 'emo pill' (fleet street films) some girls 'crushing love'(koch) gentleman caller 'Until We Are Missing'(affirmation) impossible shape 'horus' (secretly canadian) melk the g6-49 'glossolalia' (sounds are active / joyful noise) jorma whittaker 'jorma whittaker' (secretly canadian) deep cricket night - self titled panic attacks - 'upcoming album' brando 'upcoming album' faith kleppinger 'upcoming album' score to the feature film 'a certain justice'(racso films) [wrote & recorded] if you're intersted in doing some recording, drop me a line at audiosculpture@hotmail.com ABOUT THE LINKS (see with this free site i can't put a description with the link...it will be better someday): MUSICAL FAMILY TREE. here is a place where you can hear MANY cool bands for free. some you have probably heard of, others you most likely have not. you can hear some things i recorded on 4 track cassette in the mid to late ninties. it was released as a cd titled 'music to fall asleep to vol. 1.' it's mostly drones & droney pop songs. guests on the recording include geraldine haas (cello) on a track & jeb banner (bass) on another. people aware of the brando song 'weave in your hair' may recognize the song 'exploding hearts.' BRANDO LABEL SITE. this is the site for brando (i play guitar for them) that is maintained by the label. it is not updated very often. that's why for the latest in brando news, plus rotating mp3s, you should visit: BRANDO @ MYSPACE. this is kept up to date very well by our friend sonya....she rules. QUEENSIZE TWIN AIR. this the studio i share with vess, lon paul, andy & jake. at this moment, the site is not finished, so you probabably won't see anything if you click here.....but try anyway. RACSO FILMS. this is the site for racso films, who produced 'a certain justice.' i wrote & recorded the score for this film. there are also 2 songs in the movie. the first is 'on fire' by gentleman caller from their first album 'ice water' (smokeylung). the second song, 'open your eyes,' was written by chris allen (who wrote the film), andy fry (from the academy and margot & the nuclear so & sos) and i. andy & i played the music & it was sung by heidi gluck (the pieces, some girls, the only children). heidi also played a heart-wrenching lap steel solo. EMO PILL - this is the site for the short film to which i am contributing some ambient drones. |
